Political Peril

I am seriously considering getting the hell out of this country.  I don’t know what I would have done if Biden didn’t win.  What I do know is that I would not have wanted to hang around to find out.  There is no stopping the Trumpublican Party.  There are way too many of them and they have turned themselves into mindless cultists out there who have fallen victim to their one true leader who is nothing but a pile of pigshit.  I have pretty much hibernated since covid came our way and really haven’t seen many folks I know, which is probably good.  I will be getting out now soon to see some of them and it’s going to take a lot for me to remain cool and stay away from politics.  And not just politics, but also have they been vaxed?  If not, are they going to and if no, then why?  If it is not what I want to hear, then that’s it.  We part company.  Also, if I so much as hear anyone praise what happened on the 6th of January and they wish they were there, well, they are not going to be happy to see me.  They may be bigger and stronger, but I will get a few licks in.  I am also sick of these S***publicans who pop up everyday with their sewage mouth bullshit that it wasn’t an insurrection and denied any violence occurred.  Ron Johnson comes to the forefront on that one.  I can’t figure out how the hell they call themselves patriots.

I’m not interested in Europe.  Been to a few places over there, but am not attracted enough to settle there.  Asia is out cause I had my fill of that place.  Same for the Middle East and Africa.  New Zealand is a thought, but not Australia.  The East Indies sound exotic, but I don’t trust Krakatoa any further than I can throw it.  The West Indies are very inviting, but too open to hurricanes.  Going any further north is out of the question.  South America would be a definite, possible, maybe as I hear there have been quite a few Americans that have taken up residency in Ecuador.  Central America, nyet, although I have always been fascinated with Costa Rica, but it’s too late now.  I should have moved there 20 years ago.  Mexico would be just fine, but not the east side.  It’s a nice place to visit, but I would not want to live there.  However, the west side does make the juices flow, especially Mazatlan.  We were there 4 years ago and would be hard pressed to find anything negative about it, plus, it’s the least expensive place I have ever spent time at.  You can live there very comfortably every month for less than what we pay for our apartment in the Twin City area.

I’m definitely in a quandary here since my wife has another 7 years of teaching to do and by the time she retires, I’ll be in my 80’s.  Unless, I could coax her into finishing her career teaching English to the locals.  What I need to do is get some sort of publishing firm that would be akin to my style of diction and send out articles like I am doing now.  An article a day will keep the debt collectors away.

All appropriate suggestions out there are welcome.  I am quite serious about leaving this country on account of my not liking where it is heading.  As far as I can see, we are never going to close any gaps.  Bipartisanship is non-existent.  Look at the Republican Party, they can’t even get along with each other.  The only way I will stick around is if those cultists get lobotomies and maybe not even then.  Besides, sitting on the beach sipping mai tais and rum chatas is way more attractive than shoveling snow and putting up with those far right brainless Q-Quacks that make about as much sense as sticking needles in your eyes!  Stay tuned…..!
