Another Mitch Pitch

To paraphrase William Prescott, an American officer at the Battle of Bunker Hill during the Revolutionary War, with a slight twist at the end would change his famous phrase to, “Do not fire until you see the whites of their lies!” This is what I try to adhere to when denigrating the Trumpublican Party.  Truth be known, when I line up one of those Trump Stumps, I fire long before I see the whites of their lies.  These buffoons are for the birds.  I tell you, if they were birds, they would be terns of the Laridae family and I would make it my personal mission to “leave no tern unstoned”.  No, they are not birds, they’re more like turds and I’m not birdturdin’ when I tell you one of their biggest turds is going to get raked through the coals here in the next few days.  I’m not talking about Liz Cheney, she’s going to be tomorrow’s subject that I have titled “Not Quite Right Enough”, look for it at a news stand near you.  Nope, I’m talking bigger than Liz, but a spineless male creature that I would like to see retire from the BBB, not the Better Business Bureau, but the Bill Blocking Business, the top nut himself Senator “Big Mac!”  

Mitch McConnell just will not give up his white washed ways.  He always feels he’s right, however, he keeps saying the wrong things, or he says the right things, the wrong way.  He can be eloquent, but his subject matter creates a backlash and today’s one is a doozie.  What he prefers to do is not only wipe out Black History Month, but wipe out Black History altogether.  By the time the smoke clears, there will be, at least, 1619 negative tweets sent his way.  Sugar plum pipe dreams keep dancing in his head.  I have a very soft realistic solution for him to reach the paradise of the distant shore.  His best out is to announce his retirement effective by the summer solstice, have a huge going away party and ride off into the sunset.  At 79 years of age, he deserves to spend his golden years in more suitable surroundings than that of the Senate Chambers Ground Zero.  May as well get out now as things for the Republican Party are going to get far worse than they already have.  All this crap that’s been going on since election day is merely a dress rehearsal.  They are using Trump as their barometer, but have already gone beyond him and the damage is going to be irreparable.  As for Mitch, I just perused the internet news and the hits just keep on coming starting with MSNBC and The Hill, but nothing yet from the N.A.A.C.P.

So what’s the ballyhoo?  Little Mitchie has commented today that the beginning of the American Slave Trade in 1619 is an irrelevant point of American history.  Oh, oh!  According to “The Hill,” McConnell’s alma mater has condemned him for his comments and according to MSNBC, wonder boy and 38 other GOP’ers have sent a letter that opposes the teaching of our Nations diverse history, including slavery and the vast contributions of Black Americans to our society.  Well, that was a mouthful, even with a foot in the way.  All of this, of course, is propagated from the New York Times 1619 Project of essays and the like about slave history in North America.  

I’m flabbergasted as to how these “Pubs” so readily get into controversies.  It seems to be a natural born instinct.  It’s a foregone conclusion that they are white supremacists that are steadfast in whitewashing American history and they seem to flaunt it.  I betcha that the “saps” Tom Sawyer conned into whitewashing Aunt Polly’s fence were from the Pre-Republican side of the tracks and distant relatives of Big Mac and his cronies!  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
