Holy Cow!

I don’t even know which topic to lecture on today .  We are deluged by so many news flashes all at once, that In a span of 5 minutes, or less, I went from discussing Kevin McBurger’s time delayed Red Meat debacle on Fox Folly, to the Catholic Church’s telling Biden that wafer tablets are a no-no to Rudy Giuliani and the Deep Six Travelin’ Salvation Show.  Plus, yes, there’s more, as we can’t forget about the Pillow Fight on late night must see TV.  So much diction and so little time.

First off, let’s cover the old debunked news that won’t go away.  Last Monday, the Fox Fools had backtracked on the Biden - Red Meat story that was pure malarkey.  They were up in arms about the President wanting the public to narrow their meat consumption down to 4#’s a year.  When Trump heard that, he admitted to eating 4#’s the day before.  Wha?  I swear, this guy is alive in spite of himself.  Appears that the “Pubs” were feeding (get it?) into the meat malarkey theory that Biden wants Americans to cut back 90% of their beef diet in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  Whoa!  That would only be about 8 or 9 Big Macs for the Big Mac each year.  He’ll have to go down to Mar-a-Lago and mooch off citizen Trump when he needs a fix, since the “Don” can pack 4#’s a day away.  To make matters worse, 2 days after Fox and other News Media debunked that story as false, the Big Mac was on Sean Hannity’s program and Hannity let him rave on.  Just goes to show, 2 wrongs don’t make a right.

Now one of my least favorite subjects, the universal boondoggle of Church & State.  There is never a winner there, only walking wounded.  I’m not out to pick sides here, or on anyone and far be it for me to denigrate the Catholic Church and/or the present President.  However, I have to go with the underdog here since it’s a case of WTF!  We finally have a regular Joe in the White House that is a rather unassuming low profile, not calling attention to himself, look at me kinda guy.  Sort of type that would live in Mr. Roger’s neighborhood and if he wants to go to Mass and receive Communion, so be it.  But noooooooo……not if U.S. Catholic Bishops have their way.  They are going to decide at their next annual meeting in June if they will allow Biden, along with other Catholic politicians to receive Communion if they advocate for abortion rights.  Hmmm!  Analysis indicates that between Catholics and Protestants, the decline in membership is much steeper among Catholics.  The Protestants are down 9 points, from 73% to 64% and the Catholics are down 18 points, from 76% to 58%.  Even the Stock Market is doing better than that.  Seems to me that the Catholic Church can’t afford more of a downward slope.  I would think they would be elated to have the President of the United States in their fold, not like the last guy who worshiped the Kingdom of Trump.  Back in my elementary school days at Assumption Hall, the church was open to all who desired to come in.  Looks like times have changed. Tch Tch Tch!

Finally, since I’m running out of space, I will have to forego Rudy and his Deep Six Travelin’ Salvation Show for later, but did you get to see the pillow fight?  I didn’t watch it, as I have an aversion for Jimmy’s guest last night.  I saw bits and pieces and it looked to be a trainwreck waiting to happen, so I went to bed.  The thought of the pillow guy rehashing voter fraud over and over makes me want to puke.  Kimmel must have either a strong stomach or a warped sense of humor or both.  Stay tuned…..!
