Goofy Govs

Texas and Florida occupy pleasant memories.  I lived there in the 60’s and 70’s and became absorbed into the environment.  Florida for the fun and sun and Texas for the food and fun.  As much as I would like to pop in and out of there, on occasion, during the winter season, I do not have any desire to be anywhere near those geographical locations anytime soon.  Truth be known, they have become the bane of our existence as far as state government is concerned.  We are on the verge of these pandemic variants going hog wild.  I can imagine all these microscopic felons floating around with each other and laughing their microbes off.  If you could hear them communicate they would be saying things like, “wow, this is so easy!”  Word in the lab is that they get on their cell phones (get it, CELL phones) and call their cousins to “come on down to Crackerville and Wackotown!  Everything is wide open down here and ripe for the pickin’!”.  Talk about reckless abandon.  Leave it up to Governors Fool and Hardy to repudiate all precautions whatsoever.  The Major League Baseball season has opened up and the 30 clubs have put a limit to the attendance capacity.  The average across the board is 26%.  Of the 30 clubs, 22 of them have below average limits.  The lowest amount allowed are the Washington Nationals and the Boston Red Sox at 12%.  The highest at 100% is, of course, the Texas Rangers.  Daily inoculations have now reached 3 million a day and it now looks good to have enough vaccines to go around.  Sometimes it feels like we can be on the verge of obtaining herd immunity and another variant breaks out and devastates us.  And to enhance the situation there were thousands upon thousands of maskless spring breakers running amok in Texas and Florida.  Yes, there are other states that have dropped masked mandates, but for some reason, these 2 southern states have to flaunt their foolishness.  What gives?

It doesn’t take rocket science to see just what gives in these 2 states, all it takes are a couple of Republican governors.  If you break it down to its lowest bottom feeder denominator, of course, it’s the Republican Party plus all their MAGA maggots that are dragging us down.  Problem we have is that when we take a good step forward, we take two steps backward.  California is the state with the most coronavirus restrictions.  But, for every California, there is a Florida and Texas.  Other states are dropping restrictions, especially masked mandates.  It’s really gotten sad what’s happening now.  I realize that no one is going to have state shutdowns anymore like we had last spring, which was really cool for me being an essential worker for Insta-cart with hardly anyone in the stores or on the highway, but in reality, it will be the only way to beat this thing.  I personally am bracing for another rugged outbreak that will set us back.  Sure hope I’m wrong, but if I’m not, then, I’ll be right again for all the wrong reasons!  Stay tuned…..!
