Political Psyche
I wonder if anyone has ever written a humoristic sarcastic satire of each of the 50 states political psyche? You know, something that would define a certain state’s political well-being that would be basically acceptable to the rest of the nation. I have done absolutely no research on this subject at all since the question just popped into my head so I’m going into this completely blind, but why should this article be any different than all the other ones I’ve written. Keep it on a level playing field. Anyway, since no research has gone into what I am about to say, I can only say that, of which, I kind of sorta know. Since I’m in the neighborhood, let’s start with Minnesota. This is a fairly well-balanced state that really doesn’t get involved with much political controversy such as the likes of Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Missouri, Florida, New York and some others that are constantly in the controversial political news. We are still a fairly blue hued liberal state that survives pretty much in the background. About the only off the grid episode that comes to mind is we gave birth to the American Communist Party and elected a former actor/wrestler for our governor some time back. Outside of that, we are pretty much laid back and avoid any sensational national headlines. However, that is not the case for some others. These days, it only takes one individual to take things to the next level.
Texas has Ted Cruz, Georgia has Marjorie Taylor Green, Colorado has Lauren Boebert, Florida has Ron DeSantis, Missouri has Josh Hawley and New York has Andrew Cuomo. You’ve all heard of these state political personnel since we are inundated with them on a daily basis. I have lived or spent vast amounts of time in each of these states and they weren’t politically viable at the time I was ever a guest. The only one of the six that stands out would be Texas as they don’t need Ted Cruz to make the cut, they’re on the list simply because it’s Texas. So these states seem to have that political lunacy that Minnesota doesn’t partake in and that’s why we are not a go to news story. Now this brings me to another state that isn’t in the forefront of political coverage and the actual point for this article. Alabama. So what’s up with the Crimson Tide? I haven’t given Alabama much of a thought ever since I spent the winter down there in the carnival business in the winter of ‘82-’83. The only thing about Alabama that rings a bell in modern history is Nick Saban’s dynasty in college football. So, what has happened to make me pick on the Heart of Dixie, then? Let’s keep this simple and just say that this tiny miniscule news article on page 27 of internet headlines that stated, “Alabama Republican Party To Gift Trump With Resolution.” Whoa! I had to look twice to make sure the word was Resolution and not Revolution. What’s this all about? Well, I checked it out and came to the conclusion that I can honor Alabama in adding them, or at least their Republican Party to the other states on the list of questionable political intentions. The article was not very long, but long enough for me to question their Political Psyche. They are actually going to give Trump a framed resolution calling him one of the greatest presidents in history. This is stunning news. I’m at a complete loss of all my senses. I’m not sure where to go from here. I didn’t know who I could turn to for wisdom and comfort. How am I ever able to think of Alabama in the same light again? Well, at least they’ve got college football. Stay tuned…..!
