Dumb and Dumber
We are doomed. I miss the good ol’ days when we had the two dependable elephant and donkey parties. There were normal differences back then in the 2-party system, but things changed dramatically with the Pentagon Papers and then the Watergate Scandal. Nixon wanted to go down in History as a magnanimously grande President and his foreign policy could have put him there, but domestically, he failed miserably. He got bruised with the first scandal, but the second one destroyed him. Next up for the “Pubs” was Reagan, a man who reeked of Presidential timber and limped away from the Iran-Contra affair, which seeped into the one term of Bush the 1st. Bush the 2nd’s downfall was Iraq, but the Party covered over his sins and allowed him to walk away relatively unscathed. Nixon was sacrificed, but the Republican Party was setting the rest of us up through the years with their internal policy of lies, misconceptions and deceit that set the stage with a final assault to hand the ball off to a demagogue who laid waste to our Nation.
I have to believe though, that if Nixon were to see what he has wrought, he would be appalled beyond measure. He would see a Republican Party outright commending violence, crime and insurrection and then be completely and irrevocably smug about it. Like I said, we are doomed, so let’s get down to brass tacks here and see how we can defeat the aforementioned demagogue and his devious diatribe. The first thing we need to do is learn from historical mistakes. If we do something dumb, we want to correct it, not do something dumber. For instance, voting for Trump in 2016 was dumb and voting for Trump again in 2020 was dumber. See what I’m getting at? Let’s do another example. Voting for Trump in 2016 was dumb and not voting for Trump again in 2020 wasn’t. One more example. Not voting for Trump in 2016 was smart and not voting for Trump again in 2020 was smarter. Stay with me now. I hope you’re catching on cause I’m giving you pearls here. This past week-end at the annual CPAC commingling was a cornucopia of crap. I don’t even know where to begin in describing this dumb to dumber diction, but I need someone, so I will just settle with Fox News. I will have to do some research to see if any news network in the past had ever sent a correspondent to a political rally to speak instead of the usual reporter duties like CNN did with Jim Acosta. There’s something suspiciously odious here with Fox News correspondent Pete Hegseth flinging verbiage on the Nazi rune designed stage at CPAC that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stick out. What the heck is that? Once again, we have a news correspondent making the news instead of reporting it. Fox News my ass, more like Fox Folly and right up there with Trump and the 200 pound Trump-Golden Calf. Like I said, Dumb and Dumber! Stay tuned…..!
