Dazed & Confused

The GOP is really sounding wheezier than ever.  Best way I can describe it is by recalling a horror movie when someone is getting strangled and they are kicking and screaming and gasping for air.  Are you getting the picture?  This is how I perceive the Republican Party these days.  Whoa!  I’m really getting good at this.  Let’s look at those 1st two sentences and see how I nailed it.  Yes, they are sounding wheezier, yes they are a horror movie, yes they are strangling themselves, yes they are kicking and screaming and yes they are gasping for air.  Some of you out there are wondering why I keep denigrating the GOP’ers when I have already pronounced them belly-up and deep sixed.  The answer to that is, because I can and it’s fun.  As you have witnessed, on any given day, I can come up with a headline article about some really goofy shenanigans that the elephant herd is spouting off about.  The hard part is deciding just which of the dozen or so daily diatribes I end up dis(cussing).  Oh, there is the usual fare, picked-on victims if you will, but there is someone who, I believe, has been omitted from the dirty dozen or so scalawags that I have repeatedly ground into sausage.

According to Newsweek Magazine, South Carolina Senator (R) Lindsey Graham has described the former President as a mixture of Jesse Helms, Ronald Reagan and P.T. Barnum.  Now I must admit that my political savvy is lacking compared to these esteemed political pundits, but if someone were to compare them to me, I would disregard Helms, hope Graham is referring to  Reagan’s acting ability and sense of humor and I would consider a comparison to P.T. Barnum a compliment.  Unfortunately, Helms and Reagan were ensconced into the conservative culture and Barnum was a registered democrat for 30 years, but alas, turned to the Dark Side, serving as a Republican for 2 terms in the Connecticut legislature.  I dispute what Senator Graham says simply because it is geophysically impossible to be compared to the former President, besides, those 3 paragons of history would be appalled at the distinction.

Now I am the first to admit that all these different Republican Headliners have a tendency to blur a bit for me.  I may, on occasion, confuse Marjorie Taylor Greene with Lauren Boebert, Lauren Boebert with Bonnie & Clyde, Bonnie & Clyde with Boebert & Greene as they have a tendency to blend.  They are certainly doing their best to stick out and make an impression.  They have certainly succeeded, but for all the wrong reasons.  I mention them as examples of young flamboyant flash in the pans and I don’t buy into their disturbing diction.  However, what I find harder to ignore are those senior Senators, such as Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell.  When McConnell gives a spew about Trump being “practically and morally responsible” for provoking the insurrection and then turning around to say he would support him for another run at the presidency, excuse me!  When Graham stated that Trump has a dark side and on January 6th he was quoted,  “Count me out, enough is enough,” then follow up with the best way for the Party to move forward is with Trump.  Wha?  What a bunch of swivelheads.  No wonder they are dazed and confused!  Sorry fellas, like the wicked witch in the Land of Oz and the snow and ice outside my window, your Party is melting!  Stay tuned…..!
