One Mac Too Many

Here we go again, the never ending saga of the Nutpublican Party.  The 1st Mc(Connell) says that the GOP’s #1 Lady Q-Quack needs to be punished and the 2nd Mc(Carthy) says nah, it’s okay, we don’t need to proceed in that direction.  Hmm?  I…guess...it’s...okay...for...Lady Wacko to carry on with her racist and violent views AND her endless conspiracy theories.  Leave it up to another McCarthy!   At least Joe McCarthy with his Red Scare tactics back in the 50’s had a few sensibilities.  I’m afraid this House Minority Leader Blowhole wouldn’t know what sense and sensibility is if it bit him in the ass!  Then, on top of all that, he denigrates the other side of the House’s Continental Divide for their plans on pursuing the matter.  Sorry Mac #2, but your Georgia Peach’s redeeming qualities are neither appropriate nor appreciated in Congress.  According to the latest newsflash, a House Panel has voted to relinquish her Committee Memberships.  She’s about to be “flushed out” by a “full house!”

In essence, the Republican Party is motorvating their way to oblivion.  Marjorie Taylor Greene is the least of their problems.  Right now, they are in the deep end trying to stay afloat.  How long will they be able to tread water?  They have so many internal affairs going down that one can’t keep up with all their shenanigans.  They’re wallowing in their own misery.  Unbelievable that they sit there in their alternate universe castigating the Dems for fanning the flames of division whilst the rest of us are trying to decide just how many factions there are in the Republican Party.  Let’s see now, there’s the old stodgy clan that were in high school with Yoda and have been in public service for more than half their life; there’s the dependable middle-grounders that follow decorum and are actually likeable folk; there’s the younger passionate go-getters that stay just out of trouble and act more like a democrat than most democrats; there’s those that are more suited for sales franchising, such as Cruz and Hawley Used Car and Pinball Machine Parts; there’s those that are shady characters, but kind of lovable, then there are those that are braggarts and hustlers that are all mouth and no brains that have spewed forth from those dark fringe areas and are scary, stupid and supersillious all at the same time.  They are all creations of their own design.

So be it.  I can’t see them cleaning up their act.  The chances of the Big Macs starting a mutual admiration society is somewhere between zero and zilch.  Most everyday I read about so and so or what’s their name leaving the Elephant Tribe and going Independent.  They’re the smart lucky ones who have wisdom beyond their years.  Maybe it would be best for the rest of us if they stay disenfranchised and break off into different strata of the Republican Party.  They can keep bickering amongst themselves, stay both in the minority and out of the way.  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
