Here We Go Again

Tis the Day of Atonement and all through The House, The Articles were served, on this scurrilous Louse; The Senate will hear, testimony from all, throw the book at him, start the Final Downfall; Into the breach once more, that we travelled afore, He got off scot-free, now let’s settle the score; His crimes of sedition, inciting a mob, guilty as sin, this cowardly Nabob!  Whoa!  I’m a poet and don’t know it, cause my feet are Longfellows!

Okay, okay, so an Amanda Gorman, poet laureate I’m not, but weaving a tale, is something I’ve got.  Stop it!  Enough of the poetry already!  Shades of 10th grade English here.  Let’s get down to prose.  So, you know he’s guilty and I know he’s guilty and more than half the country knows he’s guilty, but you and I and they don’t count.  What it comes down to is the Senate and it will be the same shit as the 1st go round from these spineless creepy gutless wonders.  What an opportunity they have.  They can finally eradicate the other plague of the 21st century and free themselves of the Trumpublican Party, scrub the blood off their hands and eliminate the effect of the last 4 plus years by doing the right thing, but they won’t.  All they are concerned with is wrapping their bubblebrains around the year 2022 and hope to gain a majority over the Democrats.  If that happens, I will certainly become infirmed.     

I have written 40 articles so far in this vein of political humor and am having fun with it, but I feel like I’m spinning my wheels as these bozos keep proving that they don’t know shit from shinola.  If there is a bright side of the Pandemic for me, it’s that I have basically been hibernating since Election Day so I’m not out there in the open with any Trumpublicans.  You see, it’s not just the virus I’m afraid of.  It’s gotten so that I don’t want to even talk to anyone who voted for that GOP goon.  I know a few and am even related to some who have.  There are a couple who are, most decidedly, more intelligent than I, but amazingly, they allowed themselves to be scammed.  There is nothing I can do about that, not that I would even try.  They seem to be innocuous, however, the Senate isn’t and that’s what concerns me.  They have our future in their hands.  If they don’t go in for the kill now, we will never get rid of the vermin that is going to undermine our democracy.  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
