Headlines

Here we go again!  I am so in the mood for idiot bashing, which seems to have been invading my inner senses since Election Day.  It’s been over 3 months and we are still in the election aftermath era that just doesn’t want to go away.  Every day I scour dozens of headlines on the internet looking for a kooky article that deserves my attention.  There are, however, no lack of them and it always has something to do with the Republican side of the equation.  The hard part is picking out which ones to bash.  There are many obvious choices, but I look for a head turning, mouth watering, stupid sounding item that grabs the juggler and as fortune resounds, I found two of them today right next to each other.  The 1st one was about Illinois Representative (R) Adam Kinzinger and the other is none other than Wisconsin Senator (R) Ron Johnson again.  The 1st one I feel sorry for and I’ll try to come to his aid in whatever format I can and the 2nd one I treat like the scurvy he is and wouldn’t help him if he were a cow in a concrete pasture.  You ready?  And awaaay we go!!!

The Kinzinger headline is from Business Insider, “GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s relatives called him a disappointment to us and to God in a scathing letter over his criticism of Trump!”  The other headline is from Newsweek, “Ron Johnson bashes McConnell’s rebuke of Trump, says riot didn’t seem like armed insurrection!”  These are headlines that make the hair on the back of my neck stand out so let’s see what I can do to help Adam out, then I’ll move on to denigrate Ron Johnson more than I already have.  

Being intrigued, I had to read a little more of Adam’s letter.  It went on to say, “We were once proud of your accomplishments!  Instead, you go against your Christian principles and join the Devil’s army (Democrats and the News Media).”  Hmm!  Looks like Adam is the Black Sheep of a Wacko Family.  He has no idea how fortunate he is.  First off, even though there have been books and movies that have put God, the Devil and Politics all in the same light, at least we meager bottom feeding humans came up with just enough common sense and logic to separate Church and State.  Of course, there is no way one can point that out to his family since they have already gone over the edge.  I like Adam, I’m on his side, maybe he’ll run for president someday.  I hope he is resilient as it will be a long uphill struggle for him to reconcile with the whole famn damily, or maybe not!

Okay Ron, you’re next!  We’ve been down this road a few times already, but your ineptitude amazes me every time I find out that your head is still so far stuck up your ass, you’ll never see the light of day.  In reality, don’t change!  You’re already a lost cause.  You are the poster child of what is so totally fucked up about the Republican Party.  So you say that the riot didn’t seem like an armed insurrection.  Now, I’m not sure if there were any amputees there, but they seemed to be using their arms and hands in dramatic fashion using various objects for battering rams.  You say there may have been one gun, well, one is too many.  What about all those plastic ziptied handcuffs and the noose that had Mike Pence’s name on it.  Then there are the hand wielding stars and stripe flag poles used to beat the shit out of anyone in their way.  Seems like your idea and my idea of well armed are polar opposites.  I survived the Viet Cong, however, there is no way I would want to be, “In ‘arms Way” of those lunatics on January 6th!  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
