Chaotic Chasm

We are at the precipice of the future and the future is now with no turning back.  The roadblocks are in place and completely unscalable.  The rift between so many entities have widened to the point that has put our Country in peril.  We have become so off-centered, we are beyond misalignment, skewed to the point of being not only crooked and cattywampus but downright whompyjawed.   We have divided our Nation with a fissure so wide, there is not enough needle and thread to bind it back into place.  George Washington hit the nail on the head with his farewell speech when he warned against hyper-partisanship that will bring about domination of one faction over another, heightened by a spirit of revenge.  John Adams echoed that sentiment when he also stated something to the effect that a 2-Party system may give birth to a political evil.  And so it has come to pass and not just in politics.

Not hard to see how magnified our differences have become.  Seems that everywhere we look we see a divisional spirit rearing its ugly head intent on enhancing our differential attitudes.  Obviously, politics retaining a color code of Red or Blue is the main culprit here with the media huffing and puffing to keep up.  Those two entities are enough of a problem to sort out, but no, there has to be other entities jumping into the fray not wanting to be left out, such as, religious groups, authors, publishers, musicians, law enforcement, maskers, non-maskers, vaccinatees, non-vaccinatees, even Hollywood.  In most cases, the split is obvious and in others, subliminal.  Festering at the crux of this calamity is the political environment and how the media reports on it and in many instances, the media itself becomes the story.  The lines are drawn and the forces are assembled in these two arenas of battle.  Overall, on the political side, there are Democrats vs Republicans, Republicans vs Republicans, Republicans vs Leftstremists, Republicans vs Rightstremists and Republicans vs Trump.  Rather than going into a myriad of detail, we will take them down to its lowest common denominator: Trumpers vs Anti-Trumpers.  And in this corner we have Fox News vs CNN, Fox News vs MSNBC, Fox News vs The New York Times, Fox News vs The Washington Post and Fox News vs Fox News.  Again, like politics, we will scale it down to Fox News vs Anti-Fox News.  My apologies to Newsmax and One America, but it would be unconscionable to exploit someone in the pre-puberty stage.  

Seems to me that I have used this theme a time or twenty.  In fact, I believe that all of these entity vs entity examples can be boiled down to its lowest amoebic forms:  Conspiracy Theory vs Truth, Trumpism vs Truth, Fox News vs Truth and last but not least, Elephants vs Donkeys!  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
