Dysfunction Junction

The pandemic of the century isn’t the only social distancing item on the agenda these days.  It  seems like the Republican Party is actively distancing itself from each other, sort of scattering to the 4 winds.  I could care less if they split in two and spit on each other.  The latest victim is another maga-capped Trump supporter (ho-hum) that goes by the name of Lin Wood.  It absolutely tickles me when another Trumpster follows the Pompous Party Playbook.  It’s okay to have bad thoughts about Mitch & Mike, but you don’t make a public statement that one should be arrested and the other one shot by a firing squad.  I have the same thoughts, but I’m not in the public eye and I pseudo-keep them to myself. Hopefully the Republicans put a gag & restraining order on this nit-wit which would be one less lawyer out there gumming up the works.  He could even join up with Rudy and Sidney and take their act on the road.  I suggest they go under the alias of Larry, Moe & Curly.

These shenanigans have duplicated multifold in the mired-down Republican attempt to turn the election around.  All we have been deluged with since then is voter fraud, which is strange since they gained 9 House seats.  They hold a 2-seat edge going into the Georgia Senate run-off this Tuesday, however, if the Dems win both seats, they will be in control of Washington, maybe.  I do not now, nor will I ever trust the Republican Party.  I liked Ike, but so did everyone, but did not like Tricky Dickie.  I got by with Reagan and Bush #1, but wasn’t sure about Bush  #2, he seemed a little unsure and insecure.  I always thought he would have made a better stand-up comic.  Then along came the doomsday machine.  All the toleration I had amassed for the Republican Party in all those years went right down the toilet in one single Trump Flush.  Since the election, I think about the differences between the DFL and the GOP like I think about the difference between Dusty and Buddy, that the Priests and Nuns told stories about back in Catholic School: Dusty was a Catholic and Buddy….WAS NOT!  The late great George Carlin did a parody on Dusty & Buddy as he heard the same lectures.  So what are Dusty and Buddy up to today?  Dusty is a Democrat and Buddy…..IS NOT!  Dusty social distances and Buddy…..DOES NOT!  Dusty wears a mask and Buddy…..WILL NOT!  Dusty avoided Mar-a-Lago on New Years Eve and Buddy…..DID NOT!  


To say the least, the Biden Administration will have its hands full.  He wants to reach across the aisle and instill bi-partisanship, which is certainly a noble cause, but the GOP is, in itself, a non bi-partisan dysfunctional group.  There were 108 GOP’ers that signed on to the Texas AG’s lawsuit while the rest wanted to move on.  Not to be outshined by that group, the newly appointed regime of Trumpuppets led by Ted Cruz, that I call the 7-11, made up of 7 sitting Senators and 4 Senator-Elects plan to contest the Electoral College Results.  Big Mac and the other Senate GOP leaders who have long since conceded to Biden’s legal win, must be doing the eye roll and head shake thing.  And what about Trump?  Stay tuned…!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
