Who's To Blame

What do you get with 500 republican voters in the bottom of the ocean?  A good start!  Okay, I know I know, I used an old lawyer joke and turned it into a gambit to victimize Trump supporters.  However, there is more than one way to skin a cat, meaning, there are a ton of variables to that joke.  All you need to do is replace the word lawyer, with a different subject.  Here are a couple examples:  How can you tell if Trump is lying?  His lips are moving!  How does Trump sleep at night?  First, he lies on one side, then he lies on the other!  After all the lies and misdirection plays we have been inundated with these past few weeks, with no end in sight will, in the end, go for naught.  On January 20th, Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.  Will Trump be there?  Not only will he not be at the inauguration, he will not be anywhere near Washington D.C. and will have, most likely been whisked out to a safe house on his way to a country with no extradition.  Right after Biden takes the oath of office, the shit will hit the fan and his diplomatic immunity will be revoked.  Just think of all the entities out there that are foaming at the mouth.  New York state alone, has 67 indictments against him.  How can one guy create such a cluster-fuck? 

Honestly, I don’t blame Trump.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to take a shot at the #1 slot in the free world?  Unfortunately, he got the electoral votes, but he failed miserably.  He would have done better to have been selected for a Cabinet position, perhaps as Secretary of the Inferior?  Who I blame for this fiasco is the Republican Party itself.  Why would they take such a huge risk?  Did they want to throw him to the lions to get all torn up and maybe he would go away?  Far be it for me to 2nd guess how much damage a herd of elephants are capable of, but I can assure you, they weren’t ready for one of their own to go rogue.  What would the Democrats have done?  He was a registered Democrat from 2001-2009, but did not make an attempt to run for President during that time.  Just as well, as I am sure the Dems would have had a vast plethora of other suggestions for him on how to get his feet wet in the political arena.  Too bad the GOP didn’t think of that.  There was a previous article I had written about the legendary comedian George Carlin who said, “Anyone in this country can run for president and that’s the problem!”  We all know that our federal government is in need of some reforms and they can start off by initiating stiffer criteria, in order to make a run for the presidency.  Someone like Trump would have to jump through some stringent hoops that he would never survive and end up being washed out.  Thank our lucky stars that we voted him out.  We, as a nation, could not survive another Trump Term!  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
