Off the Charts

 

We are entering the abyss of a new world order.  The actions of these foolhardy MAGA’s mixed in with the Covid-19 non-believers, who think it’s just the flu, makes me want to puke!  And what about all these kooks who live and die over the 2,638,795 conspiracy theories that are floating around?  These people have gone over the edge and far-frickin’ be it for me to try and save them.  I say, “let em go, let them wallow in their own obnoxious obstinance.”  Its entertainment value for me, I get to giggle, roll my eyes and shake my head at the whole lot of them .  I’ve been through a lot of shit in my life and have dealt with a ton of sorry-ass idiots who have survived in spite of themselves.  Today’s day in age makes me want to turn in my 1956 cereal boxtop “Common Sense” membership card due to the sick-sense and illogic actions some of the populace of this land partake in.  As I have repeated a few times already, my wife and I carry our passports with us, just in case.  Unfortunately, where can we go, that hasn’t already turned looney tunes?  Where are we all heading and what’s in store for us when we arrive?

First off, the prisons are filled with bone-a-fide ax murderers, thieves, rapists, scoundrels and ne’er-do-wells, but what about the mild mannered shoplifter, who was merely trying to feed their toddler on account of bad things happening to good people?  They’re in prison and hoodlums and thugs in government aren’t.  The Republican Party is always preaching for a shift for smaller government, well, we can start the downsizing process by throwing their megalomaniac boss and some of his cohorts in jail.  Is it really the Republican Party that has turned Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde, or just the manic actions of one man.  Whoa, must be the pretzels these trumpets have been snacking on as they have gone ga-ga over someone with the charisma of a cockroach.  Concede, are you kidding me, he doesn’t even know how to spell the word.  Wow, all of this political drama, in the same equation with the plague of the 21st Century.  

When I first heard of the coronavirus, I panicked!  I thought something happened at the Grupo Modelo Anheurser-Bush brewery down in Mexico.  I had no idea there was about to be a worldwide pandemic that has claimed over 240,000 lives so far this year in the United States alone..  The Fluists, my term for people who scoff that Covid-19 is just a case of the flu and nothing more than a conspiracy theory, simply sluff it off.  All I’ve got to say to you nay-sayers is, “DO THE MATH” this thing is real and it’s not going away!  Our lives have changed and the old norms are gone and we will be revolving for some time into the new norms of the future.  How it all pans out for each of us remains to be seen, but I’ll see ya there.  Do you think Trump will have conceded by then?  Stay tuned…..!

Uncommon Failure

Okay, I’ll let you all be the judge and jury of the following statement that I came across that was buried in the dark corners of the internet where I usually find my strange and highly unusual articles of confoundation.  This is a Los Angeles Times letter to the editor ( https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-04-12/huntington-beach-ku-klux-klan ) about the “burb” of Huntington Beach.  Headline: “Common ground with the Ku Klux Klan?  Huntington Beach has a problem.”  The letter starts off with, “As Huntington Beach was preparing for a Ku Klux Klan rally and, in response, a Black Lives Matter counter protest, police department spokesman Lt. Brian Smith said,” now here’s the kicker, “We hope that they can utilize events like this as a means to find the common ground and work together for the common goal.”  ???  I thought I would substitute the usual WTF that usually follows an incredulous statement like that with question marks.  I never pass up the ...

The New Cult

Past cult leaders the likes of Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh and Jim Jones, exemplary role models for “Moonies”, “Davidians” and “Peoples Templers” are said to have had a charismatic  gift of gab and were able to ensnarl a whole slew of followers into their realm.  They, of course, have since passed into the great beyond.  Moon was 92 when he died of pneumonia, Korish was 33 when he and his zealots died with guns blazing and Jones 47, died with his lemmings from a bad dose of kool-aid.  There was a rumor going around that his last words were, “Hey, did someone spike this stuff!”   Like Stalin, Hitler and Atilla the Hun, these folks had the innate ability to sway the masses.  To this day, I still can’t figure out how.  I was more enamored with garden slugs than those “coots.”  Nowadays, we have a new malady in our midst, an anomaly if you will, who not only doesn’t have a gift of gab, but cannot even enunciate words correctly, uses alternative facts...
